Amberwood Reaches Agreement With Arcana

Amberwood Prods. and Belgium’s Studio100 have joined forces to co-produce a new animated children’s series titled Super Mega Hyper Pets. Produced entirely in HD, the 2D action comedy is packaged as 26 half-hour episodes or 52 11-minute stories for kids 4-6.

Super Mega Hyper Pets follows the adventures of eight-year-old Timmy Jones and his pets Spike, Fuzzy and Julius. Though ordinary-looking to most, each member of the team possess a powerful ability, along with a special suit and a tricked-out vehicle that combines with the others to form the world’s most dynamic tool in protecting every-day life.

Amberwood is a producer, financier and distributor whose toon properties include The Secret World of Benjamin Bear, Hoze Houndz, Zeroman and Katie and Orbie. The company recently signed a co-production agreement with Canadian comic book publisher Arcana Studio to develop and produce a television series based on Arcana’s Ralph Filmore: Paranormal Investigator.

Kade: Shiva’s Sun #1 On Stands

Looking for a new series to add to your pull list? Arcana Comics wants to showcase their favorite gothic demon hunter, Kade in this week’s Shiva’s Sun #1. The enigmatic warrior who doesn’t feel, but always hurts is back on stands in his third series Wednesday January 9th, 2008.

Set fifty years after Kade: Sun of Perdition, Kade: Shiva’s Sun came out with a very special 25 cent issue zero featuring a stunning Greg Horn cover available in stores now! There was also a VERY limited Gold Foil Greg Horn variant that were CGC’ed and are available at better comic stores everywhere. Issue #1 ships Wednesday with gorgeous Stjepan Sejic artwork and a story written by Sean O’Reilly and Alex (Spawn: Simony) Nikolavitch that finds Kade trying to come to grips with the death of Ezra. Set in the Golden Age of India, Kade realizes that the demons he’s hunting have embedded themselves throughout the world and in other cultures.

So if a floppy isn’t your thing, how about a nice hardcover for your bookshelf? There’s also the Kade: Sun of Perdition hardcover collecting the entire 4 issue series published in 2006/2007 that is available for pre-order. Kade must hunt the Beast from the Abyss before he can bring the Fallen down to earth. This series was written by Kade creator, Sean O’Reilly and is the book that introduced breakout superstar, Stjepan (Witchblade) Sejic, to the world of comics!

Telefilm Provides Funding For Clockwork Girl

Telefilm Canada, the federal cultural agency dedicated to the development and promotion of the Canadian audiovisual industry, has provided funding for the Clockwork Girl animated film. Created by Sean O’Reilly and Kevin Hanna, Clockwork Girl tells the tale of a nameless robot girl, an amazing mutant boy, and their friendship that must overcome their warring families.

Beautifully illustrated by Grant Bond, The ClockWork Girl is a Romeo and Juliet inspired comic with a “clockwork” girl, a mutant boy and their warring families.

On one side is The Tinker, the Clockwork Girl’s creator, who is the world’s leading machine scientist. On the other side is Dendrus, The Tinker’s former friend and Huxley the mutant boy’s creator, who represents the side of biology and natural science. While the two scientist are locked in an intense rivalry, their “children” develop a great friendship.
