Kade: Shiva’s Sun #0 @ Paperback Reader

The new #0 issue of the new Kade mini series, Shivas Sun, finds Kade deep in a coma following the events of Black Sun and a subsequent voyage to India. With that as an intro, the issue briefly lays out our hero’s backstory and the story of the last arc and then attempts to set up the events leading to Kade’s coma. This is, I think, meant to create the coma as a kind of mystery, which we’ll then slowly resolve in the forthcoming arc.

As always, the nice thing about Kade, the flagship title from Arcana Studios, is the art.

Clockwork Girl #3 @ ComiXtreme

Huxley the Monster Boy and Tesla the Clockwork Girl take shelter from the rain, taking a few quiet moments to discover how their differences make them so like one another… just before Huxley learns the mission given to Tesla by her father: his destruction. As the two children try to rebel against their fathers, against the world that drives them apart, they will discover they are not the only to players in the game. This comic — a sweet book with lush, beautiful artwork…

Eve: Vampire Diva #4 @ Paperback Reader

This is the final issue of the four issue mini-series of Eve: Vampire Diva from Arcana Studios. I’m saddened that this series has come to an end, but it was an amazing end. The writer and artist pulled out all the stops for this last issue, and it’s not hard to see that they have a lot of enthusiasm for this particular character.
