Koni Waves: Ghouls Gone Wild!

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

So the Koni tpb and Koni Waves Demonslayer aren’t due out for a few more months, but we have been busy working on the next mini-series. Sean asked if he could have the covers for the next series soon for the launch of the new website. So Steve is actually doing the covers before he starts the stories which is a bit of switch for him. He usually likes to see how his villians evolve through the course of pencilling the book so this was a bit of a challenge for him painting the covers without have a definitive look for his villians. However, after seeing the first 2 covers I have to say he definitely stepped up to the challenge. Here’s a peek at the covers for Koni Waves: Ghouls Gone Wild! #1 and 2. Issue 3 is in the works.

In my next post, I’ll show some pics from Steve’s recent photo shoot with Koni model Trish.

Koni Stuff

Hey, this is Mark form Koni Waves. I wanted to try this out and figured I would give a run down on what to expect from Koni Waves this year. First, this month at the New York Comic Con, there will be a Koni Waves exclusive comic called Koni Waves: The Headdress of the Undead #1. This story was going to be a tpb exclusive story but we thought NYCC was going to be so big we wanted Koni to have a presence there. So we’re doing up a small print run of the Headdress of the Undead books. If you miss it, the story will still be in the tpb. Speaking of the tpb, this June the Koni Waves: First Wave tpb is going to be released as well as our first crossover, Koni Waves Demonslayer #1! The tpb will feature the original 3 issue b&w series as well as the Headdress of the Undead story. Koni Waves Demonslayer will be our first full color book! Demonslayer’s creator Marat Mychaels pitched in a gave us a kick @ss cover to the book. You may know Demonslayer from her several Image Comics and Avatar Press series. If not, I highly reccommend picking them up. Then the following month, July, Koni is teaming up with 10th Muse. Darren Davis and Bluewater Productions is putting this one out and I’ve seen some pages. Let me tell you it looks fantastic! Finally, in October it’s our 2nd mini-series: Koni Waves: Ghouls Gone Wild! The first issue kicks off when my favorite band, ADEMA, swings by the islands to shoot their new video. Needless to say, mayhem ensues and Koni and ADEMA jump into the mosh pit to kick some undead butt. Well that’s it for now. In my upcoming posts, I’ll try to go more into detail on the different projects. Later!

Arcana Blog

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

Yeah alright maybe I’m a couple years behind the times, but I finally did it. I created a blog for Arcana to update with news, books and projects we’re working on. I’m completely redoing the website and am really wanting a much more stable, robust and dynamic online presence.

With regards to the website I want to have a blog, online store (again), clean up and manage our forums (again), continue working on the gallery and just get everything running ship shape.

This has been the busiest three years of my life and it feels like I’m running ‘near the end’ of the treadmill. I’m wanting to make things a bit easier and I’m hoping that the online environment will do that. I tend to be a man of actions, and not too many of words…I prefer to do instead of say but I’m going to try to come on here occassionally…having said that I’m going to invite some Arcana creators on here to talk about their projects and what they are doing…hope to see you on here and I look forward to your advice and comments!
